Chi Gung & Tai Chi - Exercise for Life
Chi Gung & Tai Chi may be called 'exercises for life'. They are what I call 'physical culture', in the sense of improvement, refinement, or development of the body, and also the body in it's relationship to the mind and the spirit of God manifesting in our lives. Through thousands of years the Chinese and other Asians have, at their best, developed and maintained many exercise systems which are superior to western strength training in terms of there effect on health and longevity of the human body. These often simple, but not always easy to perfect, movements aim to improve flexibility, circulation, oxygenation, and the flow of chi, life force, or energy through the body. Tai Chi and Chi Gung movements aim also to get one in touch with our inner balance which so many of us lose during a stressful and hectic life. In getting in touch with this inner balance, they may help reduce stress and thereby improve health and longevity, and inner peace. A live teacher is best, videos can be helpful.
